We’re passionate about supporting our members and the communities they live in. Here are some causes, events, and teams that have inspired us to get involved.
Mother's Day Classic
“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer.”
- Leeanne Turner, CEO MTAA Super
Organised by Women in Super, the Mother’s Day Classic is Australia’s biggest fundraising event for breast cancer research.
We’ve been taking part in the Mother’s Day Classic for over a decade and have been the Canberra Partner since 2017. Over the last few years, our CEO Leeanne Turner has raised around $25,000 for the event. We also provide volunteers, teams, and committee support to help the event grow bigger and better year after year.
Road Safety Education (RSE)
RSE is a not for profit organisation committed to reducing trauma on our roads. RSE runs practical and powerful workshops for young people in senior high school to change the way they think about road safety.
As a Gold Sponsor, our support gives over 7,000 students the opportunity to take part in RSE’s flagship driver safety program, RYDA. We believe educating the next generation of drivers will help reduce road fatalities and make our roads safer for everyone.
R U OK?
In Australia, an average of eight people die by suicide every day. That’s why we’re working with R U OK? to empower our community to make meaningful connections with the people around them.
By partnering with R U OK? we can offer our members and employers useful tools, resources, and advice to help them start important conversations with their family, friends, work colleagues and neighbours.
MTAA Super is the naming sponsor for the Australian National University (ANU) solar car team.
This exciting partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability. It also gives us the opportunity to support research in motor technology, such as data diagnostics, regenerative braking, power storage and engine efficiencies.
The MTAA Super Sol Invictus team competed in their first Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in 2017. The team travelled over 3,000 km from Darwin to Adelaide using less power than it takes to make a cup of coffee!
Australian Red Cross Blood Service Red 25 Program
The aim of the Australian Red Cross’ Red25 program is to ensure that 25% of Australia's blood donations are secured. Led by our Deputy CEO Michael Sykes and one of our IT Consultants, Alex Floros, MTAA Super staff are doing their part by donating blood throughout the year.
Every November, MTAA Super staff help change the face of men’s health by taking part in Movember. In 2017 we raised over $1,000. We hope to do even better this year.
