Mother's Day Classic
The Mother’s Day Classic (MDC) is Australia’s biggest fundraising event for breast cancer research. MTAA Super staff, members, and employers have joined more the 1.3 million other runners, walkers and volunteers at MDC events around Australia over the past decade. MTAA Super is also a partner of the Canberra MDC event.
“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer.” - Leeanne Turner, CEO, MTAA Super
All proceeds from the MDC go towards innovative world-class research that works towards zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
Road Safety Education (RSE)
Road Safety Education (RSE) is a not for profit organisation committed to reducing trauma on our roads. RSE runs practical workshops for young people in senior high school to change the way they think about road safety.
Annually, MTAA Super’s support helps over 50,000 students across more than 650 schools take part in RSE’s flagship driver safety program, RYDA. Designed for 16-18-year-old students, RYDA helps equip young people with the tools and knowledge they need to stay safe on the roads.

Sol Invictus
MTAA Super Sol Invictus is the Australian National University's Official solar car team which competes in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.
The Challenge sees teams drive over 3,000 km from Darwin to Adelaide using less power than it takes to make a cup of coffee with cars that will shape the future of motoring technology. The race has seen innovation in areas like data diagnostics, regenerative braking, power storage, and engine efficiencies which have been applied commercially to the motoring and associated industries.
The partnership also inspires the next generation through a series of school visits and gives one lucky apprentice the chance to join the team in preparation for the race.
The Big Super Day Out
The Big Super Day Out connects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with their superannuation through outreach events across Australia. First run in 2015, the Big Super Day Out has helped more than 1,000 people find lost super and develop plans to grow and protect their super.
Australian Prostate Centre
The Australian Prostate Centre (APC) is a medical facility like no other. Uniting research, education, and treatment, the Centre aims to make support accessible for all.
Staff-lead initiatives
MTAA Super staff across Australia support their local communities through many employee-led fundraising and participation activities. Some ongoing and recent initiatives include:
- MTAA Super staff participate in Movember by growing a moustache or running or walking 60 kilometres during the month of November to raise funds and awareness for men’s health.
- For the last three years, MTAA Super has collected toys, food hampers, and non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army to distribute to families over the Christmas and New Year period.
- In 2018, MTAA Super teamed up with Giveit for Australia’s largest Secret Santa. Toy donations were provided to Life Without Barriers which supports refugees, mental health and housing support, and those with a disability.
