Our Board

The MTAA Super Trustee Board is made up of three member-nominated representatives, three employer- nominated representatives and three independent directors.

 

The Hon. John Brumby

Independent Chair

John commenced his appointment on 4 April 2011. John has a long and distinguished career in public life, serving in both the Federal and Victoria Parliaments and for more than 10 years as Treasurer and then Premier of Victoria.  As Treasurer, Mr Brumby delivered strong financial results including seven consecutive Budget surpluses, all AAA rated. Since retiring from Parliament, Mr Brumby has joined a number of not-for-profit and private sector Boards.

Vicki Allen

Independent Director

Vicki commenced her appointment on 19 December 2011. Vicki has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services and property sectors, and was most recently Chief Operating Officer of The Trust Company Limited. Her executive career spans senior strategic, product, operations and advisory roles at National Australia Bank, MLC and Lend Lease Corporation. Vicki holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne as well as a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney and is the Chairman of Bridge Housing Limited, a not-for-profit community housing provider.

 

Susanne Dahn

Independent Director

Susanne commenced her appointment on 1 January 2012. Susanne has extensive experience in the Australian superannuation and financial services industry, including 12 years as a non-executive Director on two superannuation boards. Directorships included the Victorian Emergency Services and State Super Fund from 2001 to 2010, and from 2010 and 2011 the Board of the Australian Government Employees Superannuation Trust. Susanne is a partner at Pitcher Partners in Melbourne and holds an MBA and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Philip Perdikaris

Employer Representative Director

Philip is an employer representative director nominated by MTAA Ltd. He commenced his appointment on 19 December 2011. Philip has significant experience as an executive in the automotive industry. He is currently the Chief Executive of MTA Apprentice Plus, a training organisation that provides apprentices to the automotive industry. He was previously the Chief Financial Officer of the Motor Trades Association of NSW where he assisted in developing new member service organisations such as MTA Finance, MTA Insurance and MTA Vehicle Inspections. He has commercial experience within the distribution and wholesale industries and worked in a senior financial project management role for Macquarie Bank. Philip has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW and has been a Certified Practising Accountant for more than 20 years.

Don Rowland

Employer Representative Director

Don is an employer representative director nominated by MTAA Ltd. He commenced his appointment on 23 November 2009 and was reappointed on 22 November 2012 for a further 3 year term. Don has over 30 years experience in the motor industry. He currently acts as Secretary to the Motor Trades Association of NSW. His earlier experience includes General Manager roles at Motor One, Jubilee Ford, Delforce Motor Group and Lansvale Holden. Don has also held senior roles in Property Finance with over 20 years experience at AGC Ltd

Bruce Hatcher

Employer Representative Director

Bruce is an employer representative director nominated by MTAA Ltd. He commenced his appointment on 1 February 2012. Bruce has been a specialist adviser to the motor industry for over 20 years. He was the National Chairman of Horwath Australia (specialists in Motor Industry Services) and Managing Partner of Horwath Queensland for 15 years as well as the former Chairman of BDO (Qld) Pty Ltd. Bruce has a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australian Institute of Company Directors, Financial Services Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Management.

Mark Georgiou

Member Director

Mark is a member nominated director and his appointment commenced on 23 November 2006. Mark was reappointed on 22 November 2012 for a further 3 year term. Mark has more than 20 years experience as a Senior Industrial Officer that includes working in the National Vehicle Industry on matters including the superannuation arrangements for workers covered by Awards, Enterprise Arrangements and individual contracts.

Alix Sachinidis

Member Director

Alix is a member nominated director and commenced his appointment on 26 March 1996. Alix has over 20 years experience in superannuation, industrial relations and training in the Automotive industry. He is currently the National Industrial Officer of the AMWU Vehicle Division and is responsible for strategic advice on all industrial matters including superannuation and training. Alix holds a Masters of Business in Industrial Relations / Human Resources Management from Victoria University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations from Melbourne University and a Bachelor of Arts from La Trobe University.

 

 David Smith

Union Nominee Director

David Smith  is a union nominee director nominated by the Vehicle Division of the AMWU. He commenced his appointment on 13 September 2012. David has over 19 years’ experience as a union official and is the AMWU-Vehicle Division National Secretary  and the Chairperson for the Federation of Vehicle Industry Unions.
